How to match Pokémon card colors in a binder

Compare artwork, frames, brightness, and color similarity to create a coherent Pokémon binder palette.

By Prism · Published October 21, 2026

Choose artwork, frame, or whole card

A Water-type card can have a warm illustration; a colorful scene can sit inside a dark frame. Choose the color region that matters for your composition. Prism Pro supports region-based color matching so you can search the illustration independently of the surrounding card.

Balance hue with brightness

Select a starting color and compare candidates at the same size. Place pale cards near pale cards for a smooth gradient, or repeat a dark accent on opposite sides for balance. Lower similarity when you need more options, then review whether each result still belongs visually.

Keep the illustration intact

Rearrange real cards to achieve the palette rather than recoloring their artwork. Save an image of the page and compare it with the individual cards. A successful composition should still work when every frame, label, and border is visible.
